ClinConnect Summary
The Bariatric Surgery Observation Study Part 2 is a research project that aims to understand the long-term effects of two types of weight loss surgery—Roux-en-Y gastric bypass and Sleeve gastrectomy. Researchers want to see how well these surgeries help people maintain weight loss and improve related health issues, like diabetes or high blood pressure, over 10 to 15 years. They will also look into any complications or new health problems that may arise after the surgeries.
If you had bariatric surgery at Namsos Hospital, St. Olavs Hospital, or Ålesund Hospital between January 1, 2010, and December 31, 2015, you might be eligible to participate in this study. Participants will be asked to fill out some questionnaires, have a clinical exam, and meet with a nurse and doctor. There will also be blood tests and other health checks involved. This study is currently recruiting patients of all genders, aged between 18 and 65 years. Your participation could provide valuable information that helps improve future weight loss surgeries and patient care.
