ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial, called the "Mindfulness Intervention for Parents of Children With ASD," is looking to help parents of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) by testing a new smartphone app designed to promote mindfulness. Mindfulness is a technique that encourages people to focus on the present moment, which can help reduce stress and improve mental well-being. The study will explore how different life events and thoughts about those events affect the emotional health of parents, and it will examine whether using the app can help lower their feelings of distress over an 8-week period.

To participate in this study, parents must have a child aged 6 to 18 with a confirmed diagnosis of ASD. They also need to own a smartphone with internet access and be able to read and write in Chinese. It's important to note that parents currently diagnosed with mental health issues like depression or anxiety will not be eligible to join. If you qualify, you'll have the chance to use the mindfulness app and learn techniques that may help you feel less stressed and more at ease in your daily life.
