ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how certain muscles and ligaments in volleyball players affect their balance and explosive power, particularly in those who have chronic ankle instability—a condition where the ankle feels weak and may frequently give way. The researchers are comparing two groups: one group of volleyball players with chronic ankle instability and a control group of players who do not have this issue. By using ultrasound to examine muscle and ligament characteristics and tests to measure balance and jumping ability, the study aims to understand how ankle instability impacts performance and how this information can help in treatment and prevention strategies.
To participate in the trial, you should be a female volleyball player aged between 14 and 35 years. You must have been training regularly for at least a year and meet specific health criteria. If you have not had recent ankle, knee, or hip surgeries and do not have other certain injuries, you might be eligible to join. Participants can expect to undergo some tests and assessments, and the findings may help improve care for athletes with similar conditions in the future.
