ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the possible link between certain chemicals, known as endocrine disruptors, and thyroid cancer. Endocrine disruptors are substances that can interfere with the body's hormones and are found in everyday products, such as certain plastics and personal care items. The goal of the study is to compare levels of these chemicals in patients who have been diagnosed with thyroid cancer to those who do not have the disease. Researchers will use advanced testing methods to measure these levels and see if there's a connection.
To participate in this trial, you must be between 65 and 74 years old and either have been diagnosed with thyroid cancer in the last five years or be matched with someone who has. Unfortunately, individuals under 18 years old or those who cannot provide consent will not be eligible. Participants can expect to undergo tests that measure the levels of these chemicals, and they will also be asked about their diet and use of personal care products. This study aims to better understand how these chemicals might affect thyroid health, ultimately helping to improve cancer prevention strategies.
