ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new treatment option for people with early-stage osteoarthritis in their hand joints. Specifically, it is testing the safety and effectiveness of injecting a special type of tissue called adipose allograft matrix (AAM) directly into the small joints of the hand. The researchers believe that this injection could help reduce pain and improve function without the risks associated with some current treatments, such as using a patient’s own fat.
To participate in this study, you need to be over 18 years old and have hand joint pain along with medical imaging showing signs of osteoarthritis. However, if you have had previous treatments for your hand pain, certain health conditions, or are pregnant or breastfeeding, you may not be eligible. Participants will first complete some surveys and tests to assess their pain and ability to move, and then they will receive the AAM injection during a separate visit. The trial is currently recruiting participants, and everyone is welcome to apply.
