ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying two different methods of providing pain relief after a cesarean section (C-section) to see which one works better. The two methods being compared are the Surgical Transversus Abdominis Plane Block (TAPB) and the Ultrasound Guided TAPB, both using a medication called Bupivacaine to help manage post-surgery pain. The goal is to find out which method offers patients better pain control after their elective C-section.

To participate in this trial, women must be over 21 years old and pregnant, planning to have a scheduled C-section using a specific type of incision called the Pfannenstiel incision. However, women with certain conditions, such as a history of drug addiction, allergies to the pain relief medication, or infections at the injection site, cannot take part. If eligible, participants can expect to receive one of the two pain relief methods during their surgery, and their recovery will be monitored to see how effective each method is for managing pain. This research aims to improve pain management options for women undergoing C-sections in the future.
