ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how effective different ways of testing for Hepatitis C (HCV) are in a specific group of people who are attending Social Insertion Centers—places that help individuals who have received alternative sentences to prison. The study aims to compare self-testing for HCV at home with traditional testing done at the center. By doing this, researchers want to understand how common HCV is in this population and gather important information about the characteristics of those infected, so they can offer effective treatment options.
To participate in the trial, individuals must be visiting a Social Insertion Center for the first time and provide their consent to join. Unfortunately, those who refuse to participate or are younger than 18 or older than 79 years cannot take part. Participants can expect to have the opportunity to get tested for HCV and, if needed, receive help for treatment. This study is important because it aims to improve access to HCV testing and treatment for individuals who may be at higher risk for the disease.
