ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how magnesium sulfate (a type of mineral) affects muscle relaxation during certain surgeries. Specifically, the researchers want to see if giving magnesium sulfate before surgery helps muscles relax faster and for a longer time when a drug called cis-atracurium is used. There are two groups in the study: one will receive magnesium sulfate, and the other will not.
To participate, you must be between 18 and 60 years old, scheduled for elective ear, nose, or throat surgery, and have a healthy weight. You cannot have any medical conditions that affect muscle activity or have certain allergies. If you choose to take part, you’ll receive either the magnesium sulfate or a placebo (a substance with no active ingredients), and the team will monitor how your muscles respond during the procedure. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and it aims to improve the care and comfort of patients undergoing surgery in the future.
