ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new technique called the "safe-line" technique, which is being tested to see if it can help reduce the risk of spinal cord injury during a specific type of surgery for a condition known as thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm (TAAA). TAAA is a serious condition where there is a bulge in the aorta, the large blood vessel that carries blood from the heart to the rest of the body, located in the chest and abdomen. The trial is currently recruiting participants, and it's open to individuals aged 65 and older who have certain types of TAAA or related aneurysms and are undergoing endovascular repair, which is a less invasive surgical method.
If you or a loved one are considering participating in this trial, you should know that it involves monitoring the safety and effectiveness of this new technique during the repair procedure. Participants will be part of a larger international study, and all genders are welcome. It's important to note that those who have had traditional open surgery for TAAA are not eligible for this trial. Overall, the goal is to find out if this new approach can make surgeries safer for patients with this serious condition.
