ClinConnect Summary
The French Gut study is a large national project aimed at understanding the gut microbiome, which is the community of bacteria and other microorganisms living in our intestines. By collecting 100,000 stool samples along with information about people's diets and health, researchers hope to learn how these gut bacteria differ among healthy individuals and how they relate to various diseases like diabetes, obesity, and even neurological conditions such as Alzheimer's. This research could help us better understand how our gut health is connected to our overall well-being.
If you are an adult living in France and interested in participating, you may be eligible to join the study. Participants will need to sign an electronic consent form and provide a stool sample. However, individuals who have had certain surgeries, are currently taking antibiotics, or are under guardianship may not qualify. If you decide to participate, you can expect to contribute valuable information that may aid future healthcare improvements for everyone.
