ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on understanding cardiac amyloidosis, a condition where abnormal proteins build up in the heart, affecting its function. The study aims to use advanced ultrasound techniques to clearly identify the unique features of cardiac amyloidosis compared to other heart diseases that present similar symptoms. Researchers will also look at how well the heart recovers when patients receive a new treatment called tafamidis, which is specifically for a type of cardiac amyloidosis related to a protein called transthyretin.
If you're between the ages of 65 and 74 and have been diagnosed with cardiac amyloidosis, you may be eligible to participate in this study. To join, you'll need to have had a thorough evaluation at our facility, including necessary tests and at least one follow-up visit. Participants can expect to undergo echocardiography, a heart imaging test, to assess their condition and response to treatment. This research is important as it could lead to better diagnosis and management of cardiac amyloidosis, ultimately improving patient care.
