ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how a mobile app, supported by nurses, can help parents manage their children's symptoms better. The focus is on parents of children with complex medical conditions, such as cancer or severe disabilities. Many of these parents experience a lot of stress and may feel unsure about how to care for their child's symptoms. The goal is to see if using this app can boost parents' confidence in managing their child's health and improve their children's overall well-being.
To be eligible for the trial, parents must have a child aged 2 to 18 with a complex medical condition, own a smartphone, and be able to read and communicate in Chinese. They should also live with their child at home. Participants will be randomly assigned to either use the mobile app with nurse support or continue with regular community care. The trial will last three months, during which researchers will check in at different times to see how parents and children are doing. This study aims to find out if the app can help parents feel more capable in managing their child's symptoms compared to standard care.
