ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is comparing two different types of elastic compression stockings, one with a pressure of 21 mmHg and the other with 32 mmHg, to see which one works better after a specific procedure for treating varicose veins called radiofrequency ablation. Varicose veins can cause swelling and pain in the legs, and these stockings are meant to help reduce these issues after surgery. The trial is important because there isn’t enough research on how different levels of compression affect patients after this type of treatment, and many patients find higher compression levels uncomfortable.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be adults over 18 years old who have been diagnosed with varicose veins and are scheduled to undergo the radiofrequency ablation procedure. However, people with certain conditions, like severe artery disease or obesity, and those who are pregnant cannot participate. If you join the study, you will wear one of the two types of stockings after your procedure, and researchers will monitor how you feel and any side effects you might experience. This could help improve future care for patients after varicose vein surgeries.
