ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the best ways to manage pain for children undergoing a special type of surgery called single-incision laparoscopic appendectomy (SILAP) to remove the appendix. This surgery is commonly performed for appendicitis, which is when the appendix becomes inflamed and painful. The researchers want to find out which pain relief methods work best—like using general anesthesia, localized pain relief before the surgery, or injections that numb the area.
To participate in this trial, children must be 15 years old or younger and scheduled for a SILAP at the participating hospital. Unfortunately, older teens and adults, as well as those with certain medical conditions or who have had different types of surgery, will not be eligible. If a child joins the study, they will receive pain management tailored to their needs during and after the surgery. It’s important for families to know that this trial is not yet recruiting participants, meaning it hasn't started enrolling patients yet.
