ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a program called "Flourish" that aims to help reduce child malnutrition in very poor communities in the Philippines. The program is run by a non-governmental organization called International Care Ministries (ICM). It focuses on supporting families who are struggling with extreme poverty. As part of this study, community health workers (CHWs) will be trained to provide health education and support to families affected by malnutrition. These CHWs will come from the same communities and will help not only the families in the ICM program but also others in their neighborhoods who may need assistance.
To participate in this study, individuals must be part of the ICM program or be nominated by a member of the program or a local health unit due to issues with malnutrition. Participants can expect to receive valuable health education and support over 15 weeks. The main goal of the trial is to see if having these community health workers can effectively lower the number of children suffering from malnutrition in these hard-to-reach areas. It's an important step towards improving health and well-being in these vulnerable communities.
