ClinConnect Summary
The LiPO Teen study is a follow-up research project looking at how lifestyle changes during pregnancy can impact the health of mothers and their children over time. Specifically, it focuses on mothers who participated in an earlier study called the LiP study, where they followed a low-calorie diet and increased their physical activity during pregnancy. Now, the researchers want to see how these mothers and their 14-year-old children are doing, especially in terms of preventing obesity and related health issues.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be mothers who took part in the original LiP study and their teenage children. There are no specific exclusions, so many families may qualify. If you join the study, you can expect to share health information and possibly participate in interviews to help researchers understand how lifestyle choices in pregnancy can affect future generations. This research aims to find ways to promote healthier lives for both mothers and their children.
