Brain Tumor Glutamate

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying the role of a substance called glutamate in the growth of glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), a very aggressive type of brain tumor. Researchers believe that changes in how glutamate is produced and used in the brain may affect how GBM grows and spreads. By understanding these processes better, the hope is to find new ways to treat this challenging condition.

To participate in this trial, you need to be an adult between the ages of 65 and 74 who has a brain lesion that doctors suspect is GBM. You should also be eligible for surgery to remove the tumor, followed by radiation and chemotherapy. It's important that you can give your consent to join the study. However, individuals under 18, those with liver disease, severe anemia, or who are pregnant cannot take part. If you join, you can expect to contribute to important research that may help improve treatment options for brain tumors in the future.
