ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial, called the International Multicenter Mycotic Aneurysm Aorto-iliac Study, is looking into how to best treat mycotic aneurysms, which are infected areas in the aorta or iliac arteries. These infections can be serious and are sometimes not noticed until it’s too late, making it important to understand how to manage them effectively. The study aims to gather information from patients who have undergone surgical treatment for these types of aneurysms, specifically focusing on those who had in situ repair, which means the surgery repairs the aneurysm right where it is.

To be eligible for this study, patients need to have a primary mycotic aorto-iliac aneurysm and must have had the in situ surgical repair. However, patients with infections in their vascular grafts or those with secondary aorto-enteric fistulas (abnormal connections between the aorta and intestines) cannot participate. If you join the study, you can expect to contribute to a better understanding of how these infections are treated, potentially helping future patients facing similar health issues.
