ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating the effects of two different cooling methods on pain relief after surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome. Specifically, researchers want to see if continuous cooling therapy is more effective than traditional ice packs in reducing post-operative pain for patients who have undergone open carpal tunnel release surgery.
To participate in this study, you need to be at least 18 years old and scheduled for the surgery. It's important that you can complete online questionnaires about your experience. However, if you've had previous carpal tunnel surgery on the same hand, or if you're taking strong pain medications like opioids, you won't be eligible to join. If you do participate, you can expect to receive either cooling therapy or ice packs and will help researchers by sharing your feedback on how well it works for your pain management.
