ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new way to help doctors see inside bones that have been broken or are infected, using a method called Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT). OCT is a light-based imaging technique that doesn’t require any medication or special dyes, making it easier and safer for patients. The study aims to find out if this method is practical and acceptable for patients with open fractures or fractures that have become infected.
To participate, you need to be at least 18 years old and have either an open fracture or a fracture that is infected. Unfortunately, if you have a specific type of fracture in the foot called a metatarsal fracture, you wouldn’t be eligible to join. If you decide to participate, you can expect to undergo the OCT imaging as part of your treatment process, and the study will help researchers learn more about how effective this imaging technique can be for future patients. The trial is currently recruiting participants of all genders.
