ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new way to prevent serious breathing problems that can occur after surgery, especially for patients who have undergone general anesthesia. The researchers want to find out if a special computer program, called a machine learning algorithm, can help identify patients at higher risk for these complications by analyzing their medical data and ultrasound images taken in the recovery room. The trial will include 512 adult patients who are having planned surgeries and are expected to stay in the hospital afterward.
To participate in this study, patients need to be at least 18 years old and scheduled for an elective surgery that requires general anesthesia. Those who are having outpatient surgery or who might need to go to the intensive care unit afterward will not be included. If you join the study, you will be monitored for any breathing issues after your surgery, and the aim is to catch any problems early, before they become serious. This research could ultimately help improve safety and outcomes for patients undergoing surgery.
