ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "Stress and Tooth Structure Loss in Dental Students," is exploring how stress and different eating habits can affect tooth wear among dental students. The goal is to gather information about how these factors contribute to the loss of tooth structure. To do this, researchers will use special scanners to measure the condition of the students' teeth and ask them about their stress levels and dietary habits through questionnaires. This pilot study will help refine the research methods and prepare for a larger study in the future.
To participate in this trial, you need to be a dental student enrolled in the Dental Prosthetics Course I during the summer semester of 2023 at the Dental School of Medical Faculty Carl Gustav Carus at the Technical University of Dresden. You should have at least one pair of healthy first molars and complete dentition, meaning all your teeth are present or properly closed up to the molars. Unfortunately, those under 18 or over 40, or those with certain dental conditions or ongoing treatments, won't be eligible. Participants will provide written consent and can expect to share their experiences with stress and diet while having their dental health closely monitored. This study is not recruiting participants yet, so there will be more information available soon.
