ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how to prevent low blood pressure (called intraoperative hypotension) during surgery. Low blood pressure can lead to complications and a poor recovery after surgery. Researchers want to see if keeping a normal level of blood flow, measured by something called the peripheral perfusion index (PPI), can help manage blood pressure better while patients are under anesthesia.
To participate in this study, you need to be 65 years or older and able to communicate in Mandarin. You should be in reasonably good health, meaning you have a physical status classified as 1 to 3, and be undergoing a surgical procedure that lasts more than two hours with general anesthesia. However, if you have certain health conditions like diabetes, heart problems, or if you have difficulty moving, you might not be eligible. If you join this trial, you will be monitored closely during your surgery to help ensure your blood pressure stays within a safe range, which could improve your overall surgical experience and recovery.
