ClinConnect Summary
The Wenzhou Gestational Diabetes Cohort (WGDC) is a research study focused on understanding how diet and physical activity affect blood sugar levels in pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). This study is taking place in Wenzhou, China, and aims to help create personalized nutrition and lifestyle recommendations for these women. Researchers will look at how changes in blood sugar during pregnancy can relate to birth outcomes, such as the baby's size and the risk of premature birth.
To participate in this study, women need to be at least 18 years old and diagnosed with GDM, typically between 24 to 28 weeks of pregnancy. They should plan to give birth at Wenzhou People's Hospital and stay in Wenzhou with their child for at least four years. Participants will be asked to share information about their diet and activity levels over two weeks, allowing researchers to track changes in their blood sugar and how it may affect their long-term health and that of their child. If you're interested in learning more about this study or think you might qualify, please reach out for additional information.
