ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "Genderspecific Differences in Hormone Levels After Trauma," is studying how hormone levels in the body may affect recovery after serious injuries, known as polytrauma. Researchers want to understand if these hormones play a role in how well patients do after experiencing severe trauma, including injuries to the brain. The trial will collect information on hormone levels when patients first arrive at the emergency room and in the days following their injuries.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be adults over 18 who have experienced severe injuries, including serious brain trauma. Unfortunately, pregnant women, those who did not survive to reach the hospital, and certain other patients cannot participate. If someone is eligible and chooses to join, they will provide information about their health and have their hormone levels measured. This research aims to help improve care for severely injured patients in the future.
