ClinConnect Summary

The ENHANCE Study is researching how exercise and a special diet can help people who have recently been diagnosed with certain types of head and neck cancers, such as those affecting the mouth and throat. The goal is to create a program that combines physical activity and nutrition to support these patients during their treatment with radiation or chemoradiation. This study is currently looking for participants aged 18 and older who can read and speak English, are able to eat normally, and are willing to follow a Mediterranean-style diet.

To be eligible for the study, participants should have newly diagnosed tumors in the oral cavity, oropharynx, hypopharynx, or larynx, and must not have other serious health issues that could affect their participation. Women who are pregnant, patients scheduled for surgery, or those who are not primarily diagnosed with head and neck cancer cannot join. Those who participate can expect to engage in a tailored exercise and nutrition program designed to help improve their health during treatment. If you or someone you know might be interested, this could be a valuable opportunity to receive additional support during a challenging time.
