ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying the mechanical properties of diseased tissue found in the carotid (neck), femoral (thigh), and abdominal aorta (main artery in the belly) of patients with vascular diseases. Specifically, researchers want to understand how the stiffness and other characteristics of this tissue relate to new blood tests that measure heart health and calcification. By learning more about these properties, the study aims to improve our understanding of cardiovascular diseases and potentially lead to better treatments.

To participate in this study, you need to be between 65 and 74 years old and have arterial plaque that will be surgically removed as part of your usual treatment. It’s important that you can provide consent to join the study. If you are seriously ill or unable to give consent, you won't be eligible. If you decide to take part, you can expect to have your tissue collected during your surgery, and your health information will be used to help researchers gather the necessary data. This study is currently looking for participants and aims to contribute valuable insights into heart health.
