ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a special type of therapy called Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) combined with virtual reality exposure training to help young males aged 15 to 20 who are experiencing conduct disorder and certain personality traits. The goal is to see if this intervention can reduce their behavioral issues and improve their emotional well-being. The researchers will also examine what factors, like motivation and mental health, may affect how well participants stick with the program. Additionally, they will assess the costs associated with running this intervention.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be male, between 15 and 20 years old, and have been placed in a prison or state residential school for at least nine months. They should show signs of conduct disorder and psychopathic traits. Unfortunately, females, non-Finnish speakers, and individuals with certain mental health conditions, like autism or a history of psychotic symptoms, cannot participate. Those who join the study can expect to engage in therapeutic sessions that use virtual reality to help with their emotional and behavioral challenges. This trial is actively recruiting participants, so if you or someone you know fits the criteria and is interested, it could be a valuable opportunity.
