ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new device called the Linshom Continuous Predictive Respiratory Sensor, which aims to improve the monitoring of patients' breathing after non-cardiac surgeries. The researchers want to find out if this device can better predict breathing problems, known as respiratory depression, in patients who are recovering from surgery and receiving oxygen through a face mask. They will be enrolling around 320 patients who are at least 18 years old, have undergone non-cardiac surgery, and are expected to stay in the hospital for at least one night.
If you or a family member participates in this trial, you will be monitored closely in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) with the Linshom sensor attached to your oxygen mask. This device will continuously collect data about your breathing and blood oxygen levels without interfering with your care. The medical staff will not know the specific data from the Linshom sensor during your monitoring, but they will provide standard post-operative care. This trial is important because it may help improve safety and outcomes for patients recovering from surgery by catching breathing issues earlier.
