ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring a new brain stimulation technique called temporal interference stimulation (TIS) to see if it can help improve memory in healthy older adults. The study focuses on associative memory, which is the ability to learn and remember how different things are related. Researchers believe that by targeting specific deep areas of the brain, TIS might enhance memory functions that can be affected by aging and conditions like Alzheimer’s disease. They will also use brain imaging techniques to better understand how TIS works and to find markers that might help predict who will benefit most from this type of treatment.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be healthy seniors aged 65 to 74, with no significant cognitive impairment or serious medical conditions. They need to be right-handed and able to understand the tasks involved in the study. Participants will undergo brain stimulation and imaging sessions, allowing researchers to gather valuable information while contributing to our understanding of memory and brain health. It's important to note that this trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it represents a promising step towards finding new ways to support memory in older adults.
