ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "Comprehensive Tobacco Cessation for Cancer Patients and Survivors," is focused on finding the best ways to help people with cancer, cancer survivors, and their caregivers stop using tobacco. Researchers want to learn how to effectively include support for quitting tobacco in the care provided to these patients. The study is currently active but not recruiting new participants.
To be eligible for this study, participants should be between the ages of 65 and 74, have a history of any type of cancer (whether currently being treated or in remission), and should currently use tobacco or have recently quit. It's important that they can understand and communicate in English and are patients at VCUHealth. Those who join the study will provide consent and will be expected to engage with the study procedures throughout its duration. This trial aims to create better support systems for individuals dealing with both cancer and tobacco use, ultimately helping improve their health and well-being.
