ClinConnect Summary

The clinical trial titled "Patient Blood Management in the Approach to Prosthetic Surgery" is focused on improving how we manage blood during major surgeries, especially for patients who have anemia or low iron levels. The goal is to find ways to minimize or even completely avoid the need for blood transfusions in patients undergoing elective prosthetic surgery. This is important because reducing transfusion risks can lead to better outcomes for patients.

If you are a candidate for prosthetic surgery, over 40 years old, and have specific low hemoglobin levels (less than 12 g% for women and 13 g% for men), you may be eligible to participate in this study. The trial is currently recruiting participants of all genders. Before joining, you would need to provide informed consent, meaning you agree to take part in the study after understanding what it involves. However, certain individuals, such as those with specific blood disorders or who are pregnant, cannot participate. If you join, you can expect to be a part of a program aimed at safely managing blood during your surgery, which could lead to improved care and outcomes for you.
