ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a method called cross-education, which involves training the uninjured arm while the other arm is healing after a clavicle fracture. The goal is to see if exercising the healthy arm can help reduce muscle loss and strength in the injured arm during the recovery period. Research has shown that this technique can help maintain strength in the injured limb, but there isn’t much information about how effective it is specifically for shoulder injuries like clavicle fractures.
To participate in this study, men aged 18 to 40 with a confirmed clavicle fracture who are about to have surgery may be eligible. They should have a healthy body mass index (BMI) between 18.5 and 29.9. However, those with certain medical conditions, previous injuries to the arm, or who are taking specific supplements or medications may not qualify. If you join the trial, you can expect to follow a training program for your uninjured arm while receiving care for your clavicle injury, helping you maintain strength as you heal.
