ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new training program called REMO® to help people recover hand movements after having a stroke. Many stroke survivors experience difficulties with using their hands, and this study aims to see if REMO® can improve their ability to move their hands better than traditional training methods. The trial will involve 28 participants who have had their first stroke and are able to perform some hand movements. To take part, individuals need to have a certain level of movement ability and not have any major mental health issues or severe physical impairments.
Participants in the trial can expect to engage in 15 training sessions over three weeks, with each session lasting about an hour. During these sessions, researchers will monitor muscle activity in the hand using special equipment that gives feedback on muscle use. This information will help assess how well the REMO® training works compared to standard rehabilitation exercises. The study is currently recruiting individuals aged 65 to 74, and all genders are welcome to participate. This research could lead to better recovery options for stroke survivors, improving their quality of life.
