ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of Curcuma longa, commonly known as curcumin, on healing after tooth extractions. Specifically, it aims to see if curcumin can help heal both soft and hard tissues in the mouth better than a standard treatment. The study will involve 30 patients who need to have two similar teeth extracted. One side will receive curcumin and a treatment called PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin), which is thought to promote healing, while the other side will be a control group that does not receive these treatments. Researchers will then evaluate how well the tissues heal after the procedure.
To be eligible for this trial, participants should be adults aged 18 to 50 who have severely decayed back teeth that need to be extracted and are generally in good health. They should not have any infections in their mouth or be allergic to curcumin. Additionally, individuals who smoke or are undergoing treatments like chemotherapy will not be able to participate. If you join the study, you can expect to have both sides of your mouth treated differently and to help researchers learn more about the healing process after dental extractions, which could lead to better treatments in the future.
