ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new tool called the Dialogue Support tool, which helps predict how well patients might do after spine surgery. The researchers want to find out if using this tool can improve how patients feel about their recovery, especially in terms of leg pain for those with lumbar spinal stenosis and arm pain for those dealing with cervical radiculopathy. They’re also curious about how patients who do not have surgery compare in terms of quality of life to those who do, but have similar health backgrounds.
To join this study, participants need to be at least 18 years old and have been referred for surgery related to their spine issues, with recent MRI scans confirming their condition. They will receive information from the Dialogue Support tool about their expected recovery outcomes, in addition to the usual evaluation from their spine surgeon. Researchers will compare their experiences with a similar group from the Swedish Spine Register to see if this new approach makes a difference in how satisfied patients feel after surgery. The trial is currently recruiting participants of all genders between the ages of 65 and 74.
