ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how well a method called capnography can help doctors confirm that a nasogastric tube is placed correctly in the stomach. A nasogastric tube is a thin tube that is inserted through the nose and down the throat to provide nutrition, medications, or to assess the stomach's condition. The trial will compare capnography with traditional methods, like X-rays and checking the stomach contents, to see how accurately it works.
To participate in this study, you need to be at least 18 years old and admitted to specific hospital wards or units where you may require a nasogastric tube. However, if you are receiving critical life-saving treatments at the time of recruitment, you won't be eligible to join. If you decide to participate, you can expect to have your tube placement checked using capnography, and your results will help researchers understand how effective this method is for ensuring the tube is placed correctly. This trial aims to improve patient care by finding quicker and more reliable ways to verify tube placement.
