ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new way to help patients with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), a serious condition that affects breathing. The researchers want to see if using a technology called Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) during a treatment called prone position ventilation can improve how well patients breathe and recover. Prone position ventilation involves lying on the stomach, which can help with oxygen levels in the lungs. By using EIT, doctors can get real-time information about how well the lungs are being ventilated and make necessary adjustments to the treatment.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be at least 18 years old and diagnosed with ARDS. They should have been on a ventilator for less than 36 hours and have specific oxygen levels that indicate severe breathing difficulties. However, not everyone can join; those who cannot lie on their stomach or have certain other medical conditions will be excluded. Participants can expect close monitoring and tailored ventilation strategies during their treatment, which may help improve their chances of recovery. The trial is currently recruiting participants, aiming to provide better care for patients with this challenging condition.
