ClinConnect Summary
The INSPIRE-Lung Study is a research trial aimed at finding new ways to encourage people at high risk of lung cancer to get screened for the disease. The study uses innovative methods, like targeted ads on Facebook, to reach individuals who have a history of smoking and may not be aware of the importance of lung cancer screening. The ultimate goal is to help more people get screened early, which can lead to better outcomes if lung cancer is detected.
To participate in this study, individuals need to be between 18 and 90 years old and have a significant smoking history, such as smoking for many years or having quit within the last 15 years. However, people who have already been screened for lung cancer, have a current lung nodule being monitored, or have ever been diagnosed with lung cancer are not eligible. Participants can expect to engage in discussions about lung cancer screening and make decisions regarding their health with support from the study team. The study is currently recruiting participants, so if you meet the criteria, you may have the opportunity to contribute to important research in lung cancer prevention.
