ClinConnect Summary
The QIST Collaborative - Arthroplasty Research Cohort (ARC) Study is a research project that looks at how patients do after they have hip or knee replacements. The main goals of this study are to understand the outcomes of these surgeries, find out what factors might lead to problems after surgery, and gather information that can help improve future treatments. By collecting data from patients undergoing these procedures, the study aims to create a valuable resource for future clinical trials, helping researchers find the best ways to treat joint issues.
If you are a UK resident aged 18 or older and are scheduled for a hip or knee replacement, you may be eligible to participate. To join, you'll need to be able to read and understand English, and you’ll be asked to give consent for data collection. Participation involves filling out online questionnaires about your health and lifestyle before and after your surgery, which will help researchers track your recovery up to two years later. The study is currently recruiting participants, and being part of it could help improve outcomes for future patients undergoing similar procedures.
