ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a method called Early Goal-Directed Therapy (EGDT) using a system called FloTrac/EV1000 in patients who have undergone coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. CABG is a surgery that helps improve blood flow to the heart, but it can be risky and often requires a longer stay in the intensive care unit (ICU). The goal of this trial is to see if using the FloTrac/EV1000 system can help patients recover more quickly and reduce their time in the ICU, even though it may involve some additional costs for the equipment.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be adults who have had CABG surgery with a heart-lung machine (also known as cardiopulmonary bypass). However, those who needed special devices like an intra-aortic balloon pump or a heart-lung machine for longer support will not be included. If you or a loved one qualify and decide to participate, you can expect close monitoring and support during the recovery process. This research aims to find out if the benefits of using the FloTrac/EV1000 system outweigh the costs, ultimately helping doctors make better decisions for patients undergoing this type of surgery.
