ClinConnect Summary
The ASPP trial is studying a new way to help doctors diagnose and monitor mental health conditions in adults. Researchers want to create a set of simple self-assessment tools—like questionnaires—that ask about common symptoms of mental disorders. These tools aim to gather important information about a person's mental health and help doctors make better decisions about treatment. By using a method called Item Response Theory, the team will evaluate these questions to ensure they are effective and easy to use, potentially narrowing them down to about 10 key items.
If you're an adult experiencing psychiatric problems, you might be eligible to participate in this study. There are no specific exclusions, which means almost anyone with mental health issues can join. As a participant, you can expect to complete these self-assessment questionnaires and contribute to research aimed at improving mental health care for everyone. This trial is currently recruiting, so there's an opportunity to help shape future mental health diagnostics!
