ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how the thickness of certain muscles in the hip relates to their strength in people who have had a traumatic amputation above the knee and use a prosthetic limb. Researchers will use ultrasound imaging to measure the thickness of the hip flexor and extensor muscles and see how these measurements connect to the ability to move the leg and walk. This study aims to help improve understanding of muscle health and strength in prosthesis users.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be between the ages of 18 and 65, have had their amputation for more than six months, and have been using a prosthesis for at least three months. They should also be able to walk without needing any walking aids. Individuals with amputations on both legs or those with certain health conditions that could affect walking are not eligible. If you qualify and choose to participate, you can expect to undergo muscle measurements and strength tests while contributing to important research that may benefit others in similar situations.
