ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how to better manage low blood pressure, known as intraoperative hypotension, during major upper gastrointestinal surgeries. Researchers want to see if using a special tool that predicts low blood pressure can help prevent it from happening and understand how it affects the body’s metabolism, which is how our bodies process food and energy.
If you or a loved one is having elective surgery on the upper gastrointestinal tract, you might be eligible to participate in this trial. The study is open to people of all genders, aged 18 to 75, who are scheduled for this type of surgery, but it does not include patients undergoing laparoscopic (minimally invasive) surgeries. Participants can expect to be monitored closely during their surgery, and their responses will help doctors learn more about managing blood pressure effectively. This could lead to better care for future patients undergoing similar procedures.
