ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating how the Integrated Pulmonary Index (IPI) can help monitor breathing and heart function in patients undergoing gastroscopy, which is a procedure where a doctor looks at the inside of the stomach using a thin tube. The IPI combines several measurements, including oxygen levels and breathing rate, into one simple number, making it easier for doctors to track a patient’s health during sedation. The goal is to see if using the IPI can improve the detection and management of any breathing issues that might arise during the procedure.
To participate in this study, you need to be at least 18 years old and classified as having a low to moderate risk for surgery (ASA 1-2-3). Unfortunately, some people will not be eligible, including those who require a breathing machine, those needing urgent procedures, and pregnant women. If you join the trial, you can expect to receive careful monitoring during your gastroscopy to help ensure your safety and comfort throughout the process.
