ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new way to help cancer patients quit smoking, using a program called "CareConnect." The study combines asking patients about their tobacco use, giving advice, and connecting them with resources, all through an automated phone system that shares helpful information specifically for cancer patients. By participating in this trial, patients will be able to explore whether this approach can effectively support them in stopping tobacco use, which is important for their overall health and recovery.
To join the study, participants need to be at least 18 years old, have a cancer diagnosis, and currently use tobacco products, including e-cigarettes. They should also have visited a UCSF Cancer Center-affiliated clinic in the last three months. Participants will receive support and educational messages through phone calls, making it easier for them to access resources to help them quit smoking. It's important for patients to know that the study is currently recruiting and that they will need to provide consent to participate.
