ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is designed to study the role of certain antibodies (called antiphospholipid antibodies) and tiny particles in the blood (known as microparticles) in patients who have a condition called immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) and experience blood clots (thrombosis). The researchers want to understand how these factors can help diagnose and manage ITP patients who are at risk of thrombosis, which means they have a higher chance of developing blood clots that can lead to serious health problems.
To be part of the study, participants must be adults over 18 years old with a confirmed diagnosis of chronic ITP, whether or not they have experienced thrombosis. However, individuals with certain conditions—such as those who are pregnant, have uncontrolled high blood pressure, or other specific health issues—will not be included in the trial. The study is not yet recruiting participants, but once it begins, those who qualify will contribute to important research that could improve the care of ITP patients facing thrombosis.
