ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at changes in the Vagus nerve in people with parkinsonism, a condition that affects movement and can cause other symptoms. The researchers will compare two groups: one group of patients diagnosed with parkinsonism and another group of healthy individuals who are similar in age and gender. The goal is to see how the Vagus nerve differs between these groups and how these differences relate to the symptoms experienced by those with parkinsonism.
To participate in this study, individuals must have a diagnosis of parkinsonism and be willing to undergo various examinations. Both men and women are eligible, but those who cannot give their consent or have certain other health issues, like severe psychiatric problems or previous surgeries near the Vagus nerve, will not be included. Participants can expect to have their Vagus nerve assessed using ultrasound, which is a painless procedure, and their results will help researchers better understand the condition. This study is currently recruiting participants.
