ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is exploring a new way to measure brain activity using a technique called Magnetoencephalography (MEG). This method is better than older techniques because it can capture brain activity more accurately and quickly. The researchers want to see if a new type of sensor, called Optical Pumping Magnetometers (OPM), can be used instead of the traditional sensors, which are expensive and complicated. The goal is to identify markers that show how a healthy brain develops in both adults and newborns, including those born prematurely.

To participate in the trial, healthy adults aged 18 to 65, as well as newborns born at term (38-42 weeks) or prematurely (28-36 weeks), may be eligible, as long as they do not have any medical conditions or are receiving treatment. Pregnant women between 28 and 40 weeks along can also take part, provided they are healthy. Participants can expect to undergo brain activity measurements while lying still for a short time, and it's important to note that some individuals, like those with certain medical devices or conditions, may not be able to participate. This study could help improve our understanding of brain development in both adults and infants.
