ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at a new way to monitor kidney health during lung transplant surgeries. Researchers want to see if a technique called near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) can help them measure the oxygen levels in the kidneys while patients are under anesthesia. This is important because many lung transplant patients experience kidney problems after surgery, and being able to detect kidney oxygen levels could help doctors take steps to prevent these issues before they happen.

To participate in this study, you need to be at least 18 years old and scheduled for a lung transplant. However, if you have certain kidney conditions or are on specific treatments before surgery, you may not be eligible. If you join, you can expect to have your kidney oxygen levels monitored during your surgery, which could help improve your recovery and reduce the risk of kidney failure after the transplant. The trial is still in the planning stages, so recruitment hasn’t started yet.
